Drug Uses
Verapamil is used for treatment of supraventricular tachycardia, a rhythm disturbance of the heart. It is also used for controlling heart rate response to other rhythm disturbances, specifically atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Verapamil as prescribed by your physician.

Verapamil may cause dizziness. These effects can worsen if Verapamil is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Verapamil with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this medicine. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, check with your doctor. Verapamil should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
