Drug Uses
Furosemide is used for treatment of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney sickness. It is also can be used in combination with other medicines to cure fluid build-up in the lungs. Itmay also be used for other conditions as recommended by your physician.
How Taken
Use Furosemide as recommended by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide may increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dosage before 6 pm (18:00).
Additional Information
Furosemide can cause dizziness. These effects can worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Furosemide with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this medicine. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, visit your physician. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been advised. Don't take less or more or take it more often than determined by your doctor.
