Drug Uses
Crestor is used to control the level of cholesterol and blood pressure in patients with primary hyperlipidemia or mixed dyslipidemia. This pill is only effective when used along with certain diet.
How Taken
Crestor comes in pills to be taken orally with or without food. Usual dosage is 10mg - 40mg once a day.

You may need a dosage adjustment or special monitoring during treatment or you may not be able to take this drug at all if you have kidney or liver infection or if you have gastrointestinal problems. This product interact with the following products- phenytoin (Dilantin); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); tolbutamide (Orinase); torsemide (Demadex); fluvastatin (Lescol); a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin), heparin, ardeparin (Normiflo), dalteparin (Fragmin), danaparoid (Orgaran), enoxaparin (Lovenox), or tinzaparin (Innohep); (Activase), anistreplase (Eminase), dipyridamole (Persantine), streptokinase (Kabikinase, Streptase), ticlopidine (Ticlid), and urokinase (Abbokinase). People taking the above mentioned medicines should call a doctor concerning the dose and possibility of Crestor usage.
