Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It can also be used for treating nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin can also be used for other condition as directed by your doctor.
How Taken
Use Neurontin as suggested by your physician. Use Neurontin with or without a meal. Do not take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within two hours before you take Neurontin. Don't suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You can have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new drug, your physician will gradually lower your dosage.
More Information
Neurontin may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Neurontin with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, ask your physician. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Do not take less or more or take it more often than advised by your physician.
