Drug Uses
Atarax is used for relief of anxiety and tension caused by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It may be used for other situations as recommended by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in tablets to take in by mouth. The regular daily dosage for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg every day in divided doses. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg parted into couple of dosages.
Additional Information
Atarax can cause dizziness. These symptoms may worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Atarax with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
